Tourist attractions in Kanchanaburi

Kanchanaburi is a province in the Central part of Thailand. There are a lot of tourist attractions, such as the waterfalls, the National park and the bridge of the River Kwai.

I would like to introduce you the famous places where the tourists like to go !

The Bridge of the River Kwai is located on Tambon Thamakham. It's in the north of Amphur Muang on the route of Road No. 323, about 4 kms, turn left about 400 m, you can see the sign notice shown the way to the Bridge of the River Kwai clearly. It's a famous historical place in the Second World War. The Japanese Military forced the Alliance about 61, 700 soldiers, such as British, American, Australian, Hollanda and New Zealander soldiers and also the Chinese, Yuan, Chawa, Malayu, Thai, Burmese and Indian workers to build the railways to Burma so a lot of soldiers and workers died.


I like to go to the Bridge of the River Kwai. It's very beautiful view when we take the boat on the river near the Bridge. We can walk on the Bridge to see houses on boat sides of the river. I enjoy shopping here. There are a lot of shops to sell souvenirs, jewelries and handicrafts. I think it's an interesting place to visit.




Arawan Waterfall, is very big and beautiful waterfall. It's on the bank of Kwai Yai. Arawan Waterfall is about 2000m long. It's has 7 levels. It's in Amphur Sri Sawat. It's about 65kms from Amphur Muang. We can take the route of Kanchanaburi-Sri Sawat Road No.3199, arriving at km56, turn left, cross the bridge to Sri Nakarin market, go ahead about 3kms to the car park then walk about 500m arriving at the waterfall.





I like Arawan Waterfall. It's a fantastic place for relaxing. I enjoy playing in the water and sitting on the bamboo tables. It's also a good exercise to walk to the peak of the waterfall. On the way I like to look at a lot of kinds of trees and hear the sound of the waterfall. I always have a good time here.
